Clark Drive

This home designed itself.  Sometimes, when I walk onto a site, I can see right away what type of home would suit the property.  This was one of those times.  The site slopes gently downward from right to left, so a split-level design came to mind immediately.  What is so great about it is that the great room is on the ground level, front and back.  You walk up a half flight of stairs to a primary suite, laundry and office.  The huge overhangs with high windows keep the West Coast rains out and also give a strong nod to mid-century modern.  Down in the half basement, two bedrooms, a mechanical room and a dark but not too dark media room.   This home has just the right amount of living space, flows nicely, and is certified net-zero ready.
